The French Ambassador to Athens Patrick_Maisonnave, commemorated yesterday the Armistice Day.
Mr. Maisonnave during the memorial service at the military cemetery, made a moving statement to emphasize the friendship between the two countries, France and Greece

The French Embassy  in a tweet, said that: “France honored its victims, in Greece and on every battlefield.” (Η Γαλλία τίμησε τους πεσόντες της, στην Ελλάδα και σε κάθε πεδίο μάχης.)

Armistice Day is celebrated every year on November 11, to mark the armistice of World War I, signed between the Allies and Germany at Compiègne France, at 5:45 a.m

Mr. Maisonnave at a meeting with Greek Foreign minister before the memorial service, stated that “France is not alone against attacks, it can rely on its allies and Greek friends.”

Last month, Florence Parly, the French Armed Forces Minister told Parliament’s Defense Committee  that France will order “by the end of the year, 12 additional RAFALE jet fighters to replace the twelve aircraft that will be taken from the French Air Force inventory and supplied to Greece... We fully intend, by the end of the year, to award an order, in parallel with the order for the aircraft ordered by Greece, for up to 12 aircraft for the Air and Space Force,”

According to AFP, the contract with Greece will be signed by the end of this year and as a result of that, Greece will purchase early next year, 12 used  RAFALE jet fighters from the French Air and Space Force fleet and 6 new ones. The RAFALE contract is worth between “one and two billion euros,”
