Athens Mayor’s “big mistake.” and… the Apology of Kostas Bakoyiannis

Kostas Bakoyiannis, the mayor of Athens, posted today on his Face Book Page an apology for what he called a “big mistake”.

The opening of Omonia’s Square new fountain in Athens on Thursday, attracted thousands of residents who didn’t follow the government orders for “social distancing”, the use of masks and to avoid large gatherings.

Because of that, the Mayor of Athens was criticized for being irresponsible and hypocrite and that he personally encourage the gathering of thousands of people, not using masks during the event and not exercising social distancing.

Hundreds of videos on social media showed the Mayor and his family with thousands of Athenians assembling around the new Omonoia Square Fountain, ignoring social distancing and having no masks…

At the Video that was he released by Bakogiannis at his Face Book Page today (Friday May 15th)  he admitted that it was a big mistake and he apologize for any wrongdoings.
